Rachel and Joey’s wedding was a celebration filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Hosting them, along with their wonderful group of family and friends, was truly an honor.
Rachel and her mom visited The Beach Barn while it was still under construction and decided early on that it was the perfect place to hold both the ceremony and reception. Their trust in us from the beginning meant so much, and we were thrilled to help bring their vision to life.
Surrounded by loved ones who traveled from across the state and even from around the globe, Rachel and Joey created an atmosphere of warmth and connection. With their siblings standing proudly beside them as maid of honor and best man, the day unfolded with effortless charm and heartfelt moments.
The celebration began with a sunlit lakeside ceremony, where the natural beauty of Lake Huron provided a stunning backdrop for their vows. As the day transitioned into evening, the festivities moved seamlessly into The Beach Barn for a lively reception. Guests enjoyed delicious food, flowing drinks, and plenty of time on the dance floor, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Rachel and Joey’s wedding was the epitome of a perfect lakeside celebration—relaxed, joyful, and full of love. It was a privilege to be part of their journey, and we couldn’t be happier to have played a role in such a special day.

“I grew up going up north nearby East Tawas in the summers, so when I saw that The Beach Barn at Lake Life Cottages was opening during my engagement, I knew it was the perfect place to have my wedding. The venue has the most breathtaking views of Lake Huron, and the space itself is so elegantly designed. It has an incredible outdoor patio that allowed us to create an indoor-outdoor experience, which is exactly what you want for a Michigan summer wedding. The cottages on the property were also amazing, allowing us to spend the entire weekend enjoying the beautiful views. Staying at the cottages also helped to make setting up go smoothly, since we could walk right over to the venue if needed, which helped us to feel more relaxed.
From start to finish, we felt very supported by the owners, Sharon and Phil—who really took a hands on approach—and our wedding coordinator, Haylee. They were not only helpful throughout the wedding weekend and day but were there for us every step of the way during the entire planning process. Their care and attention to detail, combined with their knowledge of local vendors, made everything so much easier. We really couldn’t have done it without them.
Our guests were absolutely in awe of the venue and the views, and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. Our pictures, done by Justin and Haylee Photography, turned out so amazing and they did a really great job of capturing the beauty of the venue.
